Two Free Public Events This Spring in Jamaica Plain
The Christian Science Reading Room in Jamaica Plain welcomes neighbors and the wider Boston community to two free public events this spring, held in celebration of our newly renovated space and our commitment to meaningful dialogue, healing, and community engagement.
A Public Talk on Healing – Monday, April 22 at 7:00 p.m.
The first event is a public lecture exploring the spiritual practice of loving even our enemies, and the healing power this perspective can bring to personal and collective challenges. The talk will be given by Giulia Nesi Tetreau, a former licensed psychotherapist, whose early career in social work eventually led her to the spiritual practice of Christian Science. Today, she is a full-time Christian Science healer, helping others find mental clarity, freedom, and peace through a spiritual understanding of divine Love. All are warmly invited to explore a message of hope and practical healing.
A Global Climate Panel with Local Voices – Monday, May 5 at 7:00 p.m.
Our second event highlights “The Climate Generation,” a compelling global reporting series from The Christian Science Monitor, a Pulitzer Prize–winning newspaper. A panel of Monitor journalists and local youth activists will share stories from around the world and right here in Boston, offering a fresh and hopeful take on how a generation is responding to the climate crisis with innovation, courage, and compassion. Attendees will receive a free, beautifully designed, 80-page magazine of the Monitor’s award-winning reporting—perfect for classroom or group discussion.
Both events will be held at the Christian Science Reading Room, 3512 Washington Street, Jamaica Plain.
All are warmly invited to come explore the space, meet neighbors, and take part in conversations that matter.
